Pada kejuaraan atau kompetisi YoYo tingkat Innternasional memang didominasi oleh kontestan yang memakai YoYo metal (kecuali div 2A dan 4A), tetapi dari mereka juga ada yang memakai YoYo plastik kok.Dan hebohnya, beberapa tahun yang lalu, tepatnya di kejuaraan YoYo sedunia tahun 2008, Takeshi Matsuura, seorang bocah berumur 10tahun menjadi juara 1 pada divisi 5A dengan hanya memakai Lyn Fury. Dimana Lyn Fury itu termasuk YoYo plastik di kisaran harga yang sangat terjangkau dibandingkan YoYo lainnya. Tidak hanya itu saja, banyak juga kok pemain YoYo kelas dunia yang juga suka banget make YoYo plastik. Makoto Numagami dengan Atmospherenya, Andre Boulay dengan Dark Magicnya yang membuat tutorial dari beginner ampe Master hanya make 1 YoYo itu doang, dan beberapa tahun lalu Hiroyuki Suzuki a.k.a. Mickey menyabet 3 gelar juara dunia dengan memakai Speeder. Selain itu masih ada banyak lagi pemain yang belum saya sebutkan.

Buat aku sih semua YoYo bagus semua, ga ada yang jelek. Tidak tergantung apakah itu YoYo metal, plastik, hybrid ataupun biometal sekalipun, semuanya sudah cukup baik dan layak untuk dimainkan kok. Semua YoYo tidak ada yang tak layak ataupun buruk. Teteapi jangan disalah artikan, YoYonya tentu harus disesuaikan dengan trik maupun stylenya. Kalo niatnya mau maen 1A/3A/5A (bukan 0A) ya jangan ngomongin YoYo kayulah. Ato ngebandingin Hayabusa buat maen 2A trus bilang klo Hayabusanya kurang bagus ato kurang layak buat dipakai. Hahaag, mo dijitak kali ya? Ga mungkin kan kita ngebandingin Hayabusa, ST NXG ma 888.

Beli YoYo metal memang cukup cukup asyik, selain feelnya enak, sleep yang ngeri, smooth, dll tetapi YoYo plastik juga ga kalah asyik kok. Yah, meskipun playabilitynya berada di level yang berbeda. Tetapi yang kita bicarakan disini tetap YoYo kan? Baik metal maupun plastik mereka semua tetaplah sebuah YoYo. Memang ga ada yang salah atau yang melarang klo kita pamer koleksi YoYo metal kita, tetapi alangkah baiknya kalo kita lebih bijaksana dalam membeli sebuah YoYo…

Lagian juga menurut aku siy, dan juga sedikit mengutip dari Andrew SpinworkX, lebih baik tunjukkan kebolehanmu atas skill dan trik yang kamu kuasai pada orang lain, bukannya menunjukkan YoYo barumu –> versi aslinya “Show off tricks U made to other YoYo players, not your new YoYo”.

Aku sendiri pernah menemukan seorang noob/nubi/newbie langsung membeli YoYo metal YYF eight8eight classic (woah, YoYo impian gw nih), padahal dia masih belum ngarti cara binding serta pengetahuan YoYo lainnya. Wah sayang sekali kan kalo nantinya 888 itu menganggur atau nge’ding’ ga karuan.

Atau di kasus lain , ada seorang yang skillnya masih intermediate , dia baru bisa brain twister ma split the atom saja sudah mau upgrade yoyo LynFurynya ke high end metal. Padahal dia juga masih lum bisa binding. Benar-benar ga worth buying kan? Padahal menurut aku, semua YoYo plastic 1A sekarang ini, macam Lyn sudah cukup mumpuni untuk dipakai untuk kebanyakan trik yang ada saat ini baik dari beginner sampai ke master. (:baca pengalamanq bersama LF dibawah ini).

Lyn Fury merupakan YoYo plastik faforitq sampai sekarang. Sudah hampir 1 tahun hanya dengan Lyn aku telah menguasai berbagai macam trik (bisa spirit bomb, Plan D, Brent Stole latihan memakai YoYo ini juga). Dengan Lyn pun aku telah mempelajari variasi binding seperti rolling bind, mickey bind dll dimana sangat sulit dilakukan oleh dv888 yang merupakan satu-satunya YoYo metal yang aku punya karena gapnya yang besar.

Memang ga ada yang berhak melarang seperti itu, tetapi alangkah baiknya kalau kita lebih bijaksana lagi kan? Aku sendiri juga punya koleksi YoYo yang ga gitu sedikit, makanya aku sendiri juga maklum kalau ada yang koleksi atau membeli YoYo banyak. Tetapi setidaknya janganlah kamu sia-siakan YoYo yang kamu beli, rawat dan sayangilah…..

• Harga yang terlampau mahal
• Kalo nge’ding’ terasa sakit sekali, baik di YoYonya ataupun di dalam ‘hati’ yang punya nie YoYo.
• Lebih sukar untuk dimodif

Plastik ++++

• Ga gitu menyakitkan hati ketika YoYo plastik kepentok-pentok
• Mudah untuk dimodif
• Harganya murah
• Beberapa YoYo plastik (apalagi yang terbuat dari celcon) kuat dan awet
• Menurut aq sendiri nuy ya –> feel YoYo plastic tidak seburuk yang dibayangkan. YoYo plastik juga cukup menyenangkan dan tidak membosankan. Adanya imperfect macam sedikit vibe, membuat kita lebih berasa bermain YoYo daripada YoYo metal yang super smooth hingga terasa seperti tidak sedang spin
• Lebih enak dipakai untuk melatih skill kita. Mengapa demikian??
• 1.  YoYo plastik kebanyakan feelnya terasa ringan dengan sleep yang tidak semantap YoYo metal. Ini akan memaksa kita untuk melempar dengan sekuat tenaga agar trik ataupun kombo kita dapat tereksekusi. Dengan kata lain, memaksa kita untuk melatih power dan akurasi dari lemparan.
• 2.  YoYo plastik tidaklah semudah dan sama stabilnya dengan YoYo metalyang kebanyakan ‘forgiving’ buat pemain. Hal ini akan memaksa pemain agar lebih stabil dan akurat dalam mengeksekusi trik agar putaran YoYo tidak cepat habis dengan memperhitungkan gesekan yang terjadi antara string dan response system ataupun dengan body YoYo.

Plastik - - - -

• Kebanyakan YoYo plastik feelnya terasa terlalu ringan(kurang solid). Beberapa terasa kopong/hampa meski memiliki berat di kisaran yang sama dengan yang metal.
• Kebanyakan YoYo plastik kurang begitu mantab dalam hal Grind dibandingkan dengan YoYo metal sehingga kebanyakan perlu disatin dulu kalau mau grinding.
• Kurang stabil di string jika dibandingkan dengan metal. Playability dan performa masih kalah dibanding dengan kebanyakan metal.
• Pada kebanyakan kasus, spin time lebih rendah.
• Beberapa YoYo plastic terlihat seperti mainan anak-anak
